Using this site means accepting what follows. It is short on purpose.

What this course is, and what it is not

Trucking Tutor is educational material about commercial driving in the United States. It is not entry level driver training as defined in 49 CFR part 380 subpart F, and Trucking Tutor is not listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Training Provider Registry.

In practice that means: if you are applying for a first commercial licence, upgrading a class, or adding a hazardous materials, passenger or school bus endorsement, you must complete the required training with a registered provider who files your certificate electronically. Watching every video here does not put you on that registry, does not produce a certificate, and will not satisfy your state licensing agency. Anything you learn here is in addition to that requirement, never instead of it.

There is also no behind the wheel instruction here, and no video is a substitute for seat time with an instructor.

Accuracy, and the limits of it

Considerable effort goes into getting this right: claims are checked against primary sources and the regulation behind each lesson is named so you can read it yourself. Even so, regulations change, states differ from the federal floor and from each other, and mistakes happen.

Always check the current text of the rule and your own state’s manual before you rely on anything here. The material is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, and to the fullest extent the law allows Trucking Tutor is not liable for any loss arising from acting on it. Nothing here is legal advice and no lawyer client relationship is created by reading it or by writing to us.

If you find an error, please report it. See contact.

Safety

Some of what is taught describes operating heavy vehicles, working around them, and procedures that are dangerous when done wrong. Do not attempt anything described here outside proper training, supervision and the law.

Copyright

The scripts, diagrams, animation and video produced for this course belong to Trucking Tutor. You are welcome to link to it, quote it with attribution, and use it to teach yourself. You may not re upload the videos, republish the written material as your own, or use any of it as course material in a commercial training programme without written permission.

Third party material used within the course stays under its own licence, credited on the credits page and in each video.
